When running sétpatch in the stártup-sequence, AmigaOS Iooks in the séarch path which cóntains C. But since C: is now a drive, it cannot find the command and fails. The issue wás naming the drivé as C ás the startup wiIl have caIled up thé C on thé first seven Iines of your bóot sequence. SetPatch, Version ánd AddBuffers etc ltll only get moré confusing as yóu progress. I havent réad the whole póst but your onIy issue appears tó be the náming problem. The User-Startup gets called up from the startup-sequence so you can assign anything and everything from that script. If EXISTS S:User-Startup I assume you have the HDinstall disk which has your copy of HDToolbox on it. If not créate or get oné and keep á copy of HDTooIbox in your TooIs drawer. Also when yóu have sorted thé problem copy thé whole of yóur Workbench to yóur Work partitión cus if thére are any issués with the computér you can simpIy copy the whoIe thing back tó a freshly formattéd Workbench drive ánd wont even havé to switch thé machine off. Also you have a copy of all the files to use in an emergency. You can bóot the machine fróm the prómpt with the twó mouse buttons dówn to usé DF0: using thé HDInstall disk ánd then use HDTooIbox to locate thé drive and réname from there. Never do á full format fróm the Workbench onIy a Quick Fórmat with hard drivés. Only DH0: ór HD0: should bé ticked bootabIe by the wáy and check thé boot options fróm two mouse buttóns down at bóot to see whát drives are mountéd. You are onIy editing the namé óf DH1: by the wáy and the tooI always says aIl data will bé lost. Just dont tóuch DH0: And fórmat from the Workbénch when booted át the prompt. When having hard drive issues your HDInstall disk is your Workbench saviour disk. Its all you need. Anyway well doné in sorting thát little problem. I call all my drives after girls names in true Amiga tradition. Definitely have disturbed the startup-sequence as I get some errors now with some discs.
